How to Play Squirdle
Squirdle is a free daily Pokémon guessing game that combines Pokédex knowledge, smart searching, and careful deduction. Your mission is to identify the mystery Pokémon in six guesses or fewer. Begin typing any part of a Pokémon’s name and the live search instantly shows matching species from the collection. Choose one result to make your guess, then unlock up to four mystery-profile hints—type, home region, name length, and species classification—only when you need them. Everyone receives the same answer each day, and tomorrow brings a completely new puzzle.

How the Pokémon search works
The search bar filters the complete Squirdle collection as you type. You can enter the beginning of a name, its ending, or any memorable sequence in the middle. Matches that start with your letters appear first, followed by Pokémon containing those letters elsewhere. Each result includes the official name, National Pokédex number, type, and region—without artwork that could give away the silhouette.
Tips for solving the daily Pokémon puzzle
Begin with the silhouette and your own Pokédex knowledge, then reveal clues only when you need help. The first hint shows type, the second reveals region, the third gives name length, and the fourth unlocks the species classification. Each clue narrows the field, but solving with fewer hints makes the encounter more satisfying.
Use early guesses to test sensible categories instead of entering random names. A wrong guess still helps organize the possibilities in your scan history and prevents repetition. Search by fragments when spelling is uncertain; typing “mime,” “fetch,” or “nidor” can bring a tricky name into view without punctuation or symbols. The autocomplete list is designed to make Pokémon name guessing quick on both desktop and mobile.
Use the four hints strategically instead of revealing them all at once. The final hint includes the species classification and a short Pokédex fact. There is no timer, so pause before selecting a result. Check that the Pokémon’s region, type, and name length make sense, then commit the guess. Six thoughtful selections are more useful than six rushed ones.
